So far so good on the Sigma 24-77mm lens. I have taken about 500 pics over the past week just testing it out. I have not noticed any perspective distortion, barrel distortion, or vignetting at 24mm & f/2.8 but have not tested it at all ranges. I think the focus time is just a little slow but at half the price for this lens versus the Nikon lens, this is a great buy for a great lens. I did notice that the AF/M switch is very easy to accidentally move it to manual. This happened to me when I took it out of the backpack. But, now I check it and hopefuly it was just a one time thing.

If you like adventure, romance, suspense, and excitement… read the last third of Water for Elephants. The first two-thirds set the stage for a thrilling ending, but that’s all. Although Gruen’s style of writing is rich with varied vocabulary and description, the elements of the first part of the plot evoke little to no emotion in the reader. Even if the author didn’t spend a hundred pages building the back-story, the strange sexual elements that rear their ugly faces every few pages completely ruin the enjoyment of reading this book. If you want to spend 300 pages wondering why you’re reading this story, then pick up Water for Elephants and enjoy the most boring story you have ever read.

Excellent walk-around lens. If you have to pick one high-quality walk-around lens for your Canon APS-C (1.6x) dSLR, this is it. I debated between this one and the Canon 17-55m f/2.8 IS; the additional range won over (the extra 2mm on the wide end helps noticeably, and longer telephoto reach is nice too), and being 25% cheaper didn’t hurt. The big advantage of the other lens’ f2.8 max aperture could be important to some. I shoot a decent bit of video and don’t mind the smaller aperture for a little more latitude in focusing errors; even my stills are rarely shot below f5.6, though I do have other lenses to cover other needs (50mm f/1.4 USM and 70-200 f/2.8L IS).

Coupled with the EOS 7D, this lens is perfect as a fairly compact and very capable kit. Images are sharp and colorful, focusing is quick. Build quality feels solid. No issues at all!

Why 4 stars only then? Dunno, found Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM UD hard to give 5 stars when I compare it with my faster L lenses, even though those are much more expensive. Guess it’s an absolute rating scale for me :)

Incredible lens. I bought this lens as a gift for my boyfriend. He’s using Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS with his Canon XTi. It is his second lens and he is nothing short of thrilled with the shots he’s taking. This lens is great for portraits or product shots where you want to focus on one subject and have the foreground & background blurred out. He used to create this effect in Photoshop, but this lens does it all for him (and has saved him countless hours). I highly recommend this purchase.

Excellent Lrns!!. Product was in excellent shape when I received it.

Focusing length of lens is incredible, and have had no problems with clarity etc.

Would reccomend this to any photographer wanting a mid-to longer range DSLR lens.
